Its lineage is mostly unknown, with a story behind its mystery beginning with a breeder that goes by Kyle Kushman. Apparently, an unnamed breeder gifted Kyle with cannabis seeds from plants that grew in a strawberry field either in Connecticut or Vermont. He then cross bred these seeds with Original Haze (a mix of landrace sativas). From this, Strawberry Cough was born a social cannabis favorite.
